MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES

The owner or manager or their legal representative, based on Article 8 par.1 and Article 10 par.3 of the current Joint Ministerial Decision on elevators (Government Gazette 2604/22.12.2008), is responsible both for the periodic control of lift from a recognized body as well as for the renewal of its registration in the registers of the relevant Municipality.
In Article 13 of the same Official Gazette, the fines imposed in cases of non-compliance with the provisions of the said Official Gazette are defined on a case-by-case basis.

VALIDITY OF CERTIFICATES – PERIODICALS OF CHECKS
(ACCORDING TO THE USE OF THE BUILDING)
Residential building up to 6 Stages: 6 Years
Residential building with more than 6 stops: 5 Years
Commercial building up to 6 stops: 4 years
Commercial building with more than 6 stops: 3 years
Hotel with less than 200 beds: 3 years
Lifts installed in public places or accessible to the general public or hotels with more than 200 beds: 1 year

CONTAINER'S RESPONSIBILITIES


The responsibilities/obligations of the maintainer are clearly described in Article 6 of the applicable elevator legislation, Official Gazette 2604/22.12.2008.

According to Article 6 of the current legislation on elevators, Official Gazette 2604/22.12.2008:

"The responsible maintainer is required to inform the respective owners or managers in writing of their obligation to assign control (initial, periodical, regular, after an accident, after serious modifications or replacement of components, components, to a recognized elevator control body".
"The elevator maintainer responsible is obliged to inform the owner or manager or their legal representative in writing, three (3) months before the end of the deadline, to carry out the initial or periodic inspection".
"The responsible maintainer must be present during the periodic inspection of the elevator and assist in its conduct".
